Good things come in small sizes
With both my wife and I working from home (and the little guy watching his iPad) on conference calls all day, the bandwidth and struggle for a working space means that bedroom with the weak wifi signal is in constant use. Cue this wifi extender. These devices have certainly improved over the last 5 years. I've used them in the past, and switched to Google Wifi Mesh routers for a short while, but have decided to go back to using an extender for our home. It's definitely a small package, and the rotating antennas are a nice plus. In terms of setup, I didn't end up using the WPS method, but went old school through the IP and UI. Took all of...30 seconds? Incredibly easy to setup and has been working without a hitch. Gone are the days of having to fiddle for hours trying to get the right signal to be extended and not just broadcast a dummy wifi. For performance, it's not going to get you a copy of the main router, that's just impossible, but it did help boost my wifi speed test at the end of the house from 90MBps to roughly 150MBps. So it definitely helps and made VCs on the wifi much more bearable. all in all, for $40, you can't go wrong.
