I bought my first pair of Brooks (Launch 4) in 2017 and have put a loooooot of miles on them in that last 3 years. The tread is basically gone, so I decided it was time for a new pair. I loved the Launch 4's and the brand so I decided to try a different shoe in the family and went with the Ghost 12. One of the reasons I chose this shoe was honestly because I ADORE the color scheme of the navy/beetroot. That may seem silly to some, but I find the color combos and design of MOST running shoes totally hideous. I love having a shoe that pops but doesn't draw unnecessary attention and that I can actually wear with jeans if I wanted to. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colors of this shoe. In terms of comfort, they are super soft and cushy for sure, but strangely the Ghost 12's took breaking in while the Launch 4's felt perfect right out of the box. The Ghost's chaffed and blistered my right heel for about 2 weeks before they were fully broken in. Now that they are, I love them, but I very nearly sent them back in that first week. I probably kept them because I loved the color so much haha. I think sometimes, too much cushion in a running shoe actually causes more problems than it solves (read Born to Run if you don't believe me). The Ghost 12's may suffer from this issue a little bit. Now that they're fully broken in, I love them, but it definitely was a bummer and not what I was used to from Brooks to have any hot spots at all. I do my walking, running and weight training in them and I find that they are good for all of the above. The quality is definitely there, true to the Brooks brand, and did I mention I love the color? :) Honestly, I think I would still recommend the Launch line of shoe if you're new to Brooks and want a winner straight out of the box, but the Ghost 12's have grown on me. And yes, I paid full price for them! Oh and I wear a true size 8.5 in womens shoes and these 8.5's fit perfectly. I sincerely hope this review has been helpful! Feel free to ask any questions.

    For the past 2 years I have tried at least 4 different running shoe brands. All 4 brands, I've had an issue with rubs, blisters, arch/foot pain, etc. I was about to give up but read at least 10 reviews for "best running shoes in 2020" and the Brooks Ghost 12 was the only consistent running shoe on nearly every list. I ordered my first pair of Brooks but not before reading the Amazon reviews, too. I notice numerous reviewers recommended (including professional running shoe reviews) ordering 1/2 size larger than normal shoe size. So glad I ordered an 8 1/2 instead of an 8--the shoes fit PERFECTLY. This is the first running shoe I have put on and ran 5 miles without needing any break-in. The shoes fit in all the right places, great cushioning without one ankle or toe rub, great arch support, light weight and fantastic grip on gravel, hills, wet and dry pavement.

    This shoe was recommended to me by my podiatrist. I have been having trouble with the toenails on my left foot. I went to see the Dr and after sending in clippings of my nails to a high tech lab, the results were that there was nothing that was causing my nails to look bad except that I wasn't wearing the best shoes for my feet. I bought the shoes and had to get 2 sizes larger than I usually wear because the shoe runs small, contrary to what the suggestion shows on the websites. I still have to take the pills the Dr gave me and treat my nails at home with a special treatment. But the shoes fit perfectly now! I love the style and color. They are very comfortable. The company is now making Ghost 13 shoes but other people are complaining that the new shoe doesn't fit correctly and are uncomfortable. I bought a 2nd pair of my same shoe so that I can continue wearing them for a long time.

    A few decades ago, I ran seriously. I also injured myself with standard running injuries at regular intervals and eventually stopped running. I decided that I would take up running again and realized I needed to get a better shoe than the bargain shoes I'd been using to walk the dogs or to give me support on nice surfaces like soccer turf or dirt. Since I weigh anywhere from 145-155 lbs, I am a "heavy" runner. I am also late middle aged, and my knees, while still the original equipment, aren't nearly as resilient as they once were.

    The Ghost 12 was recommended as having the kind of cushioning I wanted as well as the stability I needed. I am a mild pronator. I typically wear a women's size 9 and that's what I ordered. It is on the small side of 9, but a 9.5 would have been too large.

    I am very happy with the purchase. I enjoy the stretchy lace. My shoelaces didn't become untied once! My run was smooth and I felt as if I could have run much farther. This is the first good running shoes I've had in ages. I will definitely be getting another pair of these.

    I've had 2 previous pairs of Ghost shoes - the 10s and the 11s and I've loved them both. But from the moment I put these on there are BIG Noticeable differences. They are even softer. more cushiony than before. If you thought you were walking on clouds with the previous models, wait til you try on these. And I feel they have more room in the toe box too. Fit is perfect, no "breaking in" these sneaks - they are ready to go from the first step. My previous 2 pairs have lasted me over a year each with just one refresh on the inside soles each time.

    PLEASE BROOKS! Come out with more variety of colors on these and future models. I'd ever buy white or light shoes since these are my workout/run shoes not for lounging around in. Love the darker colors (this one was great - they look black on screen but actually appear more purple/grey/black in person I think, my 11s were blue). I'd even consider a brighter color as long as its in line with what I wear all of the time. I'd never buy the pink/green combo you currently have as they wouldn't match the majority of what I wear (blue red purple black grey).
